OUR STORY

RRA Vision

To provide dedicated educators a program that addresses social justice, whole child development, and equal access to technology. To provide children an opportunity to experience and express beauty, feel powerful, and be seen for who they are.

Founding Story

Mark Galbo has been an educator and professional artist for over three decades. As an educator Mark has worked from private schools in Boston to reservation schools in Arizona. As an artist, he’s performed and produced music from New York City to Los Angeles, had five books published, worked in television, film, and recording.

Mark gets the creative process, the artists who live by it, the children hungry to express themselves. Observing similarities in how artists work and children play; Mark saw a new way to learn music; to foster creativity, self-expression, and collaboration; to develop autonomy through the creative process.

In 2003, aligning his work with a strong sense of social justice; Mark founded Rock and Roll Academy; a sacred space where play, socialization, and student choice drive an educational experience grounded in love, authenticity, and democratic principles.
